چکیده

This paper is firstly intended to review shortly the most recent developments and ideas resulting from the necessity of having a scale at which gravitation to unify the other fundamental forces. With the declared intention of predicting an in situ distinct possibility for Kaluza-Klein gravitons formation in the supernova shell we are using state of the art simulations (Langer et al. 1999; ud-Doula & Owocki 2002; ud-Doula & Owocki 2003; ud-Doula 2004) for massive stellar winds to infer that the supernova shock which will hit such winds will meet a non-isotropic and non-homogeneous matter distribution with a very distinct geometry. By linking this to the mechanism of particle shock acceleration at cosmic ray energies (Fermi acceleration) and the related spallation in the wind shell, the result is the creation of proper conditions for Kaluza-Klein gravitons formation in the supernova shell from neutrino secondary particles (cosmic ray spallation products) interacting with ∼ 1018 eV

Large and Small Bubbles in the Messier 82 Starburst

At least 50 supernova remnants (the small bubbles) have been identified in the M 82 starburst and radio synthesis studies with sub-parsec linear resolution have been used to measure the distribution, luminosity, sizes and, in some cases, expansion velocities of these remnants. The remnants are used to estimate the supernova rate and hence an independent measure of the star-formation rate in the...

Condensation from supernova gas made of free atoms

Silicon carbide grains and graphite spherules containing TiC inclusions are found in the Murchison carbonaceous chondrite. The high Ca (from Ti) and Si contents of these grains are strong evidence that all three minerals originated in the deep zones of Type II supernova ejecta. We present equilibrium calculations for SN shells, and show that TiC, but not graphite or SiC, is a stable condensate ...

Interaction of Supernova Blast Waves with Wind-driven Shells: Formation of ”jets”, ”bullets”, ”ears”, Etc

Most of middle-aged supernova remnants (SNRs) have a distorted and complicated appearance which cannot be explained in the framework of the Sedov-Taylor model. We consider three typical examples of such SNRs (Vela SNR, MSH15-52, G 309.200.6) and show that their structure could be explained as a result of interaction of a supernova (SN) blast wave with the ambient medium preprocessed by the acti...

On the origin of two-shell supernova remnants

The proper motion of massive stars could cause them to explode far from the geometric centers of their wind-driven bubbles and thereby could affect the symmetry of the resulting diffuse supernova remnants (SNRs). We use this fact to explain the origin of SNRs consisting of two partially overlapping shells (e.g. Cygnus Loop, 3C 400.2, etc.).

On the properties of HI shells in the Small Magellanic Cloud

There are 509 expanding neutral hydrogen shells catalogued in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), all apparently very young, with dynamical ages of a few Myr. To examine their relationship with young stellar objects we cross-correlated the shell catalogue with various catalogues of OB associations, super giants, Cepheids, WR stars, supernova remnants, and star clusters. The incidence of chance li...
